Visit Malaysia Year 2026: A Call to Excellence for the Cleaning Industry
Visit Malaysia Year 2026 is the ultimate proving ground for our capabilities. As cleaning contractors, and specifically as members of MACM, it is our duty to uphold the nation’s cleanliness and reputation.
The government aims to welcome 40 million international tourists. These visitors will serve as the jury of our hygiene standards. They will evaluate how well we care for our environment and, crucially, how effectively our cleaning contractors execute their responsibilities under current conditions.
Maintaining cleanliness is not merely about the frequency of cleaning; it is about the effectiveness of the execution. Mopping a floor without replacing soiled water does not clean the surface—it merely spreads the contaminants. Therefore, it is imperative that our cleaning personnel receive proper training in correct and effective methodologies.
Elevating Standards through Education
MACM is proud to offer specialized training programs for cleaning workers, alongside private sector initiatives such as those led by SGA in collaboration with Putra Business School (UPM).
Our commitment to growth, however, goes beyond the frontline. We are focused on empowering you—our members. The Member Empowerment Advocacy Program is designed to provide deep insights into cleaning principles, industry best practices, manpower estimation, and contract costing, while instilling the core ethics of MACM membership.
Professionalizing the Management
MACM is also dedicated to enhancing the corporate management standards of our member companies through three key pillars:
ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System)
We are currently identifying consultants to secure the most competitive rates and government grants for members pursuing this certification.
Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS)
We have drafted the CIMS—a management standard specifically for cleaning contractors—which we intend to elevate as a Malaysian National Standard.
Cleaning Management Certificate
In partnership with SGA, we are developing a curriculum to equip members with the tools to manage cleaning companies with greater efficiency and precision.
A Call to Leadership
These initiatives are designed to empower you to become agents of change. We must transform the cleaning industry into one that is robust, excellent, and prestigious. We bear the weight of ensuring our nation remains clean, fresh, and welcoming.
The cleaning industry must evolve toward higher professionalism and accountability. This transformation requires pioneers, and you—the members of MACM—are the leaders who will drive this change.
I call upon you to give your unwavering support and cooperation to MACM’s ongoing efforts. We do this for you, for the industry, and for Malaysia.
Finally, I urge you to practice fair and sustainable pricing in all tenders and quotations. Providing the best service should never come at the expense of our workers’ well-being.
To a prosperous future,
Noruddin Haji Idris
President
Malaysian Association of Cleaning Contractors (MACM)
